NFC technology - what is it?

NFC - Near Field Communication is a wireless communication standard that works together with Bluetooth. NFC is a proximity technology - it works up to a distance of 20 cm, and has many functions that improve the operation of our smartphones.

With the help of NFC, we can efficiently pair the devices so that they can connect via Bluetooth, thanks to which we can then transfer data. NFC works faster and more efficiently - this is an alternative to standard Bluetooth connection - it works similarly by searching on the list and pairing with the code of two devices - the connection time is a maximum of a minute.

It is much easier when both devices already have the new NFC technology. Simply hold one device close to another and pairing these devices takes only about 10 seconds.

If our router works in NFC technology, we can easily connect with our smartphone to WiFi.

The NFC technology also enables efficient contactless payments by phone. Each banking application has built-in NFC technology, thanks to which we can make payments by phone in stores without entering a pin code.

To make payments with the NFC system, we need to unlock our phone, so as long as our phone is password-protected, we don't have to worry about losing money and frauds. Theoretically, payment cards are exposed to a greater number of frauds, so it may be worth considering such a solution when shopping, especially since most phones with a fingerprint reader recently require additional confirmation of unlocking with a fingerprint or confirmation with a pin used to unlock our phone.

NFC is also helpful in reading information from billboards or posters. It is enough to bring the smartphone close to the poster, and we will see more details about the advertised product or service - a website, a wider description or we will open a dedicated application.

What else does modern NFC technology offer? For example, the ability to remotely open locks on home doors or in cars.

If our mobile phone has the NFC function (to check it, search for our phone on the network or check if there is an NFC logo on the housing). If your smartphone has the NFC function, simply slide out the function bar at the top of the screen and click on the logo. Remember that NFC works in conjunction with Bluetooth, so for this to work, we must have the Bluetooth option turned on in the phone.

The world of mobile telephony is becoming more and more modern. NFC technology is becoming more and more popular in new smartphones and is being improved each time by GSM producers.

And we, as always, recommend the best, highest-quality GSM accessories for your smartphones at great prices. Stay tuned for news and promotions at univertel.com, welcome!
